Are you engaged and making wedding plans? Do you know what biblical marriage is and what it should look like?
We believe every engaged couple needs preparation for marriage! Even more than that, we want your marriage to thrive!
If you are beginning your wedding planning and are wanting to have one of our Regina Apostolic Church pastors officiate your wedding, we highly recommend you take this 6-Week I PROMISE Premarital Course before your wedding day.
The I PROMISE Premarital Course material is the basis of our EngagedLIFE home-based small group led by Pastor Llewellyn & Kowanda Janzen. The intention in using group-style sessions is to create connection with other engaged couples who are in the same stage of life, couples ready to take their next steps toward marriage. Using the premarital course I PROMISE: A Commitment to the Four Foundations of Marriage, couples are prepared for a fulfilling life beyond their wedding day. This course introduces and explores important conversations every engaged couple must have about marriage before marriage as well as identifies the four foundational commitments, or promises, necessary for building a healthy, unified marriage.
Incorporating the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) Couples Questionnaire as the course starting point, couples then share their hopes and thoughts about marriage, identify their personality types, fight types, and talk styles, and discuss the following topics that comprise the course overview:
The 10 Crucial Questions Before the Ceremony;
Understanding Biblical Marriage;
6 Ways to Achieve an A+ Marriage;
The 4 I PROMISE Foundation-Building Commitments;
LUVE Right, Fight Right;
Managing Emotions Over Money: Spending, Saving & Staying Together
Building Your DREAM Home;
Creating a Family Legacy;
Plus much more.
Also included in this 6-Week I PROMISE Premarital Course is a couples visit with a financial advisor/planner to discuss finances and budgeting as a follow up to session five, "Managing Emotions Over Money: Saving, Spending & Staying Together."
Before the end of the course, couples will schedule an initial meeting with their officiating pastor to discuss details regarding their wedding rehearsal and ceremony.
